Adding and Editing Images
Adding Clip Art
To add clip art to your design:
Click the Add Image tab in the design studio and then click the VIEW CLIP ART CATALOG button. Browse the clip art categories or search by keyword to find an image you like. Click on an image’s thumbnail to add it to your design.

Uploading Images
To upload an image to your design:
- Click the Add Image tab in the design studio and then choose Upload Image. Once the upload window appears, click the Browse button to locate the file on your computer that you want to upload. Click Upload File and wait for your file to upload. Please note that file uploads may take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes depending on your connection speed and file size.
- Once your image has been successfully uploaded you have the option to add or remove the white from your image. When your image looks the way you want it, click Continue.
- Select the appropriate color option for your image.
- If you have uploaded an image that uses individual spot colors you may select the color blocks from our standard ink pallet that most closely resemble the colors in your image.
- For images such as logos you can choose the “Match the colors in my image” option by choosing the number of colors and we will choose the ink colors that closely match your image. If you would like us to match a specific Pantone value, you may specify this in your design notes.
- Images such as full color photographs often require more attention and may require special color mixing to reproduce. Choose the “full color photo option”. Please note that full color photographs can be reproduced most accurately by using the Digital Print method on a light colored garment.
- Click the Add To Design button, to add the image to your garment.

Artwork Requirements
The Interactive Design Studio will accept the following formats:
GIF, PNG, JPG, BMP, TIF, EPS, AI*, and PSD*
If you are having trouble uploading your image, try converting it to a different format. You may also email your artwork to art@uberprints.com and we will convert it for you. Artwork should be clean, high resolution (300 dpi) images when possible. If you are using vector artwork, please outline text objects.
* Adobe file should be flattened with no layer effects.

Editing Images
To change the color of an image:
First select the image by clicking on it. In the Edit Image panel, click the Edit Colors button to launch the ink color palette window. Click on the desired ink color and then click Close Window.
Note: While you may add or remove inks from uploaded images, the changes will not be displayed on your design. The ink colors you choose, however, will accompany your order and be visible on your final proof.
To resize an image:
First select the image by clicking on it. Next, resize the image by either a) clicking and dragging the square nodes that appear at the corners of the image or b) entering a new value in the Width and Height boxes followed by clicking the Update Size button. Units are specified in inches.
To reposition an image:
Images can be repositioned by simply clicking and dragging them. Once an image is selected, you may also align it by clicking the Left Align, Center Align, or Right Align buttons. When dragging an image near another object, the image will automatically snap-to the nearest object. This feature may be disabled by unchecking the alignment guides option at the bottom of the Edit Image panel.
To rotate an image:
Click on an image to select it. Click and drag the 'R' handle on the side of the image to rotate it. You may also manually enter a value in the Rotation field in the Edit Image tool panel.
To change the layer order of an image:
The layer order determines how text and image objects overlap. By clicking the layer order buttons on the Edit Image tool panel, you can move the image above or below other objects in your desigin.

Removing Images
To delete an image from your design, first select the image by clicking on it. Next, click the 'Delete' button in the Edit Image panel.

My Images
Once you have uploaded an image it will be stored in the “My Images” section of your account. This feature allows for easy retrieval of images or logos that you have used in the past.
In the design studio, simply click Add Image and then click the My Uploaded Images icon. A list of your uploaded images will be displayed. Add an image to your shirt design by clicking on it.
Images are only stored in the My Images section if you have saved a design that uses that image. If you leave the design studio without saving your design, your uploaded images will be discarded.

Adding and Editing Text
Adding Text
To add text to your design:
Click the Add Text tab in the design studio. Enter your text in the field provided and choose a font from the dropdown menu. Note that switching the font category will load different fonts for you to choose from. When you are ready, click the Add Text button to add the text to your design.

Manipulating Text
Once you have added text to your design via the Add Text tool panel, you can easily manipulate its font, color, size, arc, letter spacing, position and orientation. To alter text on your design, begin by clicking the text to select it. Then from the Edit Text tool panel you can alter the text object's:
Color - Click the color block to launch the ink palette window. Next, change the text color by clicking on an ink. When you are done, click the Continue button.
Size - Click the text to select it. Resize the text by clicking and dragging the square nodes that appear at the corner of the text object. You may also change the text size by manually entering a value in the text size box in the Edit Text tool panel and then pressing the <enter> key.
Arc - Text can be arced or curved by specifying a value from -360 to 360 in the Arc field or by clicking the Nudge Arc buttons. The Arc value is in degrees with a value of 0 for flat text and 360 for a full circle. Positive values create a downward curve while negative values curve the text upwards.
Letter Spacing - The spacing between letters (or tracking) can be increased or decreased by adjusting the Spacing field.
Alignment - You can adjust the alignment of a text object by clicking on the Left Align, Center Align, and Right Align tabs. You can also change the position of text by simply clicking and dragging it on your design.
Layer Order - The layer order determines how text and image objects overlap. By increasing or decreasing a text object's layer order, you can move it above or below other objects in your design.
Rotation - Click the text object to select it. Click and drag the 'R' handle on the side of the text box to rotate the text object. You may also manually enter a value in the Rotation field in the Edit Text tool panel.

Removing Text
To delete a text object from your design, first select the text object by clicking on it. Next, click the red 'Delete Text' button in the Edit Text panel.

Saving & Loading Designs
Saving A Design
To save your design from the Design Studio click the Save Design tool panel tab. If you are not logged in, you will be prompted to do so now or create an account if you do not already have one. Once you are logged in, enter a design name in the field provided and then click the Save Design button. That's it! Your design is now saved for you to retrieve at a later time.

Loading A Design
You can load previously saved designs into the studio to modify or use as a template to create a new design. Click the Load Design tool panel tab. Select the design you want to open by clicking the Load Design button.

Design Notes
The Design Notes tool panel can be used to specify special instructions for us to use when printing your design. Examples of design notes might include:
- "Print the red in my logo in Pantone 485 C and the blue Pantone 2758 C."
- "Make sure my logo is centered on the shirt."
- "Call me to verify before printing."

Emailing & Sharing Designs
You can easily share and email the designs you create with your friends. Click the Share Design button in the bottom right corner of the Design Studio. Fill in all the fields and then click the Send Email button. That's it!

Pricing & Ordering
Price Quotes
To get a price quote on a shirt you have just designed, from the Design Studio click the orange "Calculate Price & Add To Cart" button at the bottom of the Design Studio. Select your decoration method and then enter your quantities in the boxes provided. Click Calculate Price.
Keep in mind that several factors determine your custom product's price including quantity, shirt color, number of ink colors, number of print locations, and decoration method.

Ordering New Designs
To order your custom apparel, first get a price quote on your design (see above). Once your price appears simply name your design and then click the Add To Cart button. If you have not already done so, you will be prompted to login or create an account.

Re-orders
Both saved designs and re-orders can be placed directly from the My Designs section of your online account. Click the My Account tab on the website header followed by My Designs. Find the design you would like to order and click the View Design button. Once your design loads, enter your quantities in the appropriate fields and then click Add To Cart.
